In alignment, with its mission Fortitude Foundation along with Essie M. B. Smith Foot Clinic, sponsored lunch to the Baptist Health Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic! The event provided meals for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are working under unprecedented conditions. The meals were provided by Jazzy’s Eats and Treats, as a showcase of minority businesses and their support of this philanthropic effort.
Feeding frontline workers was essential. The coronavirus pandemic exposed the devastating inequalities in the workplace and communities; therefore, by volunteering and thanking these workers for risking their lives to help re-build our society is necessary. Fortitude Foundation Vice President, Tamara Cofield said “We’re very pleased to have an opportunity to partner and provide resources to support healthcare workers that are working under tough conditions. They are the superheroes and need to be reminded that their service is needed and appreciated.”
