- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Must be an incoming freshman or current student
- Must submit a letter of recommendation from the Principal, counselor, instructor, minister, or benefactors of this scholarship
- Must not have a police record or expulsion record
- Must have been involved in at least two school activities during the school year or have worked
- Must have worked during the summer if not involved in extra-curricular activities (i.e. football, band, or other sports)
- Must not receive any other scholarship or aid greater than $1,000 from any other source other than Pell Grant or basic financial aid
- First preference is for students whose parents’ income is below the poverty level, and part of the aid he/she is receiving is from a loan
- Submit a 1 page double spaced request detailing need and demonstrating community service and letter of recommendation to Fortitude Foundation c/o Book Scholarship to P.O. 4011, Montgomery, AL 36104 by August 1, 2021
